# Privacy

The short version: your ballots and notes stay on your device.

## Your work stays in your browser

The vote counters, the minutes template, the quorum calculator and the motions cheat sheet run entirely in your browser. Ballots you type or paste, CSV files you open, names of candidates, members and movers, and everything in your minutes are processed on your device. Nothing you enter is sent to us or to anyone else.

## What is stored on your device

So that your work survives a reload, the site keeps it in your browser's local storage: the ballots and candidate names in each vote counter with your counting options, your minutes draft (which can include people's names), the numbers in the quorum calculator and your colour theme. It never leaves your device. Each tool has a button to clear its data, and clearing this site's data in your browser removes all of it. On a shared computer, clear it when you are done.

## Page view counts

We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to count page views and see which pages are useful. It does not use cookies, does not track you across other sites, and never receives what you type, paste or open in the tools.

## Hosting

The site is served by Cloudflare. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes your IP address and browser details to deliver pages and protect the site from abuse; see [Cloudflare's privacy policy](https://www.cloudflare.com/privacypolicy/).

## Downloads, copying and printing

CSV and Markdown downloads are created on your device, copying uses your browser's clipboard, and printing goes to your own printer or PDF. The site never asks for your camera, microphone or location.

## Links to other sites

Links to other websites, including the tools we recommend, are ordinary links. Those sites have their own privacy policies.
